Questions, answered plainly
What is changing, what is not, and what any of it means for your credit union. If your question is not here, just ask - we will answer it and add it.
Curtains, Sercle and incuto
The incuto management team now owns Sercle. incuto works with credit unions across the UK, building the technology they use to serve their members.
No. Your system keeps running, your data stays where it is, and support carries on as normal. There is nothing you need to do.
Everything new - extra services, new hosting, the next version of the platform - is opt-in, and we will talk it through with you first.
The platform started life as Curtains and was later renamed Sercle. With a brand-new version on the way, we are going back to the name most people in credit unions knew it by. Hence Curtains 3.
It is the same software you use today. The name on the door is catching up.
Nothing changes without us telling you and agreeing it with you. If anything about your agreement is due to change, you will hear it directly from us, not from a website.
Curtains 3
Curtains 3 is the next generation of the platform - a brand-new version, built from the ground up rather than another layer on what came before.
We are not putting a date out yet. We would rather show you something real than promise a month and miss it.
What we can commit to: you will hear about it from us well before anything changes, and you will get to see it before you are asked to decide anything.
We are not publishing a feature list yet, for the same reason. It is being designed around how credit unions actually work now, and the ideas our customers send us feed directly into it.
No. When Curtains 3 is ready we will show you what it does, what moving involves and what it costs - and you decide. Nothing happens on a hidden timetable.
Your data stays yours. Nothing gets moved anywhere without agreeing it with you first, and we would plan any move with you rather than spring it on you.
Send us a message and we will add you to the list of people we update first.
What you can add now
You can add:
- Real-time withdrawals over Faster Payments
- Direct Debits for savings and repayments
- A mobile app for members, via CU Apps
- Online banking via incuto
- Loan origination via incuto
- Discounted TransUnion and Open Banking services
No. Take one, take all six, take none. They are separate, and most credit unions start with whichever one fixes their biggest headache.
It depends on which services you take and the size of your credit union, so we quote it properly rather than guessing on a web page. Tell us what you are interested in and we will come back with real numbers. No obligation.
It varies by service. We will give you a realistic timescale when we scope it with you - including the parts that depend on your bank or a third party, which are usually what sets the pace.
Some, but not much. We include training as part of setting anything up, and we will not switch something on until your team is comfortable with it.
Because incuto buys on behalf of a group of credit unions rather than one. You get group pricing without having to join anything or commit to anyone else's decisions.
Hosting
Yes. Hosting is in testing now, and it replaces what was Sercle Cloud.
Get in touch and we will show you where it is up to, what it would look like for your credit union, and when we could move you across.
Only if you want to. A server in your own office carries on working just as well, and you move across when it suits you.
Mostly to stop thinking about it. We look after the hardware, take the backups and apply the updates, which for a lot of credit unions is the whole argument.
Ask us on the hosting section and we will talk you through it, including timings for your own move.
Support, training and downloads
Use the Support page - the form asks for the details we need to start straight away. If members or money are affected, say so at the top and we will prioritise it.
Support is normally available Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm UK time. We aim to acknowledge everything the same working day.
Yes. New starters, refreshers for the whole team, or a walkthrough of a part of the system you do not use often. Ask on the Support page.
On the Downloads page. If a file you need is not listed, ask support and we will send it to you.
The Ideas page. Tell us what is slow or awkward today and what you would rather it did - that is more useful to us than a finished specification.
Nothing matched that.
Try a different word, ask the assistant, or send us the question - we answer everything.
Still not sure?
There is no such thing as a daft question about this. Ask us and you will get a straight answer from someone who knows the product.
